According to a CNN Money article in October 2016, although a budget is the most effective way to keep track of our finances, 59% of Americans are making a "huge mistake" by not having one.
I, unfortunately, was one of those people who winged it for many years. I didn't see the value of a budget until my spending got out of control and I was running up debt just to keep up with my bills. I quickly found out it's not enough to be making a great income but also that it's important to know WHERE it's going. Apart from recurring expenses I wasn't keeping up with how I was spending the other 20 - 30% of my income.
The irony of all this is that I started my career in Accounting, have a business degree and managed budgets for a large organization for many years. I guess I saw budgets as being beneficial to only large companies that had lots of money and didn't take it seriously in my own life.
After a while I realized that I would be facing financial ruin if I didn't do something quickly and that's when I started researching budget platforms and apps to help me create my budget.
It's been 3 years since I began taking my budget seriously and have learned so much along the way. The biggest thing I've learned is that it's not enough to just get an app or sign up for a budget platform; there are enough tools out there to get your budget up and running so that's not the problem. The real issue is the lack of support to create, update and keep track of your budget.
I bridge that gap between the app or platform and having an effective budget. When you work with me, you can be as hands on or hands off as you want to be, you choose.
Your Budget Pro is your biggest supporter when it comes to managing your budget!
